Attended the Seattle Symphony featuring music by Camille Saint-Saëns & Fredrick Chopin. 2nd time in my life @ the symphony. I must say, the audience is VERY gratuitous w/ applause & standing ovation than what I’m used to in musicals. Thanks for the tix Paul!
Attended Pageant – The Hilarious Comedy Musical on the second evening of Seattle Pride weekend. 6 drag queens compete for the crown … & actually sing! Different winner each show depending on the audience. I was totally rooting for Miss Texas & Miss Bible Belt.
Opened Seattle Pride with the Seattle Men’s Chorus concert “God Save the Queens” – a tribute to British music. Loved “Twist and Shout!” Not a fan of Prince Poppycock though. Cast more solos from the chorus members! Miss singing with y’all!
Watched the stage play adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray. Oh the English and their coded euphemisms! I read the abridged book in elementary and innocently missed all the gay themes/undertones. Cool final climactic scene.
Watched the play “Until the Flood” unaware it was a one-woman show abt #blacklivesmatter. The actress effectively conveyed a relevant (albeit heavy) message. But I was really originally hoping to escape into an entertaining puff piece with a plot this evening.
