The Who’s Tommy – Musical – 12th Ave Arts Sold out show of the rock opera musical The Who’s Tommy. In true Seattle fashion, their casting was so gratuitously gender/color blind that 5 actors portrayed Tommy instead of 3. So confusing! Good production though.
The Rules of Charity – Play – Sound Theatre Company Watched “The Rules of Charity,” a play shedding light on the handicap experience. Riveting, brilliantly-executed, & well-written dialogue. Fantastic climactic fight choreography. But it’s a shame I couldn’t decipher the play’s message.
Legally Blonde – Musical – 12th Night Productions Last performance of Legally Blonde the Musical. Mics should have more volume. Slower tempo than other productions I’ve seen. Supporting cast was strong (more than main characters). Huge unrealized potential here!
The Phantom of the Opera – Musical – Paramount Theatre Second time watching The Phantom of the Opera. Didn’t connect the dark “angel of music” to Lucifer (thanks Samantha). Appalling anti-feminism. Cool special effects (esp fire).
14/48: Nordo Food Theater Thunderdome – Dinner Theatre – Cafe Nordo Watched “14/48 + Nordo: Food Theater Thunderdome” last night. 4 plays/sketches, 4 courses, and 4 music sets created in 4 days. As always, their portion sizes were too small. But it was a great show, considering everything was planned in 4 days.
