Behold the Dreamers – Play – Book-It Repertory Theatre Stage play adaptation of “Behold the Dreamers” at Book-It Repertory Theatre. Well-written captivating storytelling. Reminds me of the sacrifices my immigrant parents made to achieve the American Dream. Loved the juxtaposition between the rich & poor. Surprised that so many seats were empty at such a good play.
Pass Over – Play – Musical “Pass Over” at ACT Theatre. While I support #BlackLivesMatter, I wasn’t a fan of this play’s style. Slow-moving & not very compelling/riveting until after halfway. Too much unnecessary profanity. Good symbolism but I’m sure lots went over my head. #PromisedLand
Reefer Madness – Musical – SecondStory Repertory Theatre Watched “Reefer Madness: The Musical.” Blown away by the talent of these community performers (and I’ve seen a professional production of this musical). Most everybody looked so fit when scantily clad! One of the best SecondStory Repertory shows I’ve seen. #marijuana #weed #MaryJane
Kim’s Convenience – Play – Taproot Theatre Stage play version of “Kim’s Convenience” w/ Taproot Theatre. Relatable to the Asian immigrant family experience. Also kinda racist (but in other ways not). Cool detailed set too. #Korean
Tiny Beautiful Things – Play – Seattle Repertory Theatre “Tiny Beautiful Things” w/ Seattle Repertory Theatre. Well-performed emotional monologues & impressive memorization. But this play about a columnist needed less Oprah & Lifetime with more “Sex & the City.” #basic
