Afternoon matinee of Legally Blonde the Musical in concert. Casting black actresses as Elle Woods and Paulette Bonafonté added a neat twist to this fun musical.
Watched the staged play adaptation of Jane Eyre. Like in Twillight, Pride and Prejudice, & The Phantom of the Opera, I don’t understand the allure of brooding borderline-misogynist male romantic leads.
Watched Sara Barielles’s Waitress the Musical, complete with 2 mini pies to eat during the descriptive, mouth-watering show. Wasn’t sure where they were going with their stance on infidelity but found the ending acceptable.
Watched the Tony award-winning play “Skylight.” Was intoxicated by the smell of onions & garlic sauteing as they cooked Italian (in a British play) while acting. So hungry! Not quite sure what was the message of the play.
Watched the original stage play version of Prelude to a Kiss. Started out as a fun light-hearted romantic comedy that suddenly transformed into freaky friday. Good plot progression. Totally missed the allusion to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
