Watched “ZM” – an overly-cheesy developing musical about a zombie apocalypse caused by a new fast food burger. Unless there’s a weird cult following or a massive script overhaul, I don’t anticipate this going to the mainstage next year.
Watched William Shakespeare’s tragic play Macbeth. Old english made it difficult to follow especially with no set changes between scenes and double/tripple/quadruple role casting. Nice blood effects and beheading though.
Best Hairspray version I’ve seen so far (out of 5). Will probably see again. It was interesting to hear Tracy with a more full-bodied (no pun intended) non-squeaky voice. Wish they could add the movie’s songs “Lady’s Choice” and “New Girl in Town.”
Opening night to the play Proof by David Auburn. For such dull subject matter (math) and no set changes, I was surprised how good it was. Kinda reminded me of A Beautiful Mind.
