Cirque Goes Broadway – Concert – Seattle Symphony & Troupe Vertigo Seattle Symphony & Troupe Vertigo’s “Cirque Goes Broadway” w/ dad at Benaroya Hall. Liked the idea of incorporating visuals w/ orchestra since concerts can be boring to watch. But slower, more obscure songs than expected made the circus acts less exciting. Outstanding singers though. #acrobatics
Million Dollar Quartet – Musical – Village Theatre Loud “Million Dollar Quartet” jukebox musical w/ Village Theatre. Limited plot but great stage presence & theatrics. Jerry Lee Lewis pianist was out of this world! #Elvis #JohnnyCash #CarlPerkins #Rock #Country
Urinetown – Musical – ACT Theatre & 5th Ave Theatre With dad attending the “UrineTown” musical satire produced by ACT Theatre & 5th Avenue Theatre. Fun talented cast & so many hilarious campy gags. I wasn’t sure if the show was for/against social services given the paradoxical ending. #urine
Take Me Out – Play – Strawberry Theatre Workshop “Take Me Out” w/ Strawberry Theatre Workshop. Nearly the entire male cast was naked at some point (very distracting). Good soliloquy style. Excellent climactic scenes of heightened emotion. But not quite sure what was the play’s message. #nudity #gay #lgbt
School of Rock – Musical – Paramount Theatre “School of Rock the Musical” w/ Seattle Theatre Group. Talented kid performers but my least favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. Not a fan of shows w/ lots of kids esp when the message is they know better than sensible adults.
