Once On This Island – Musical – Ludus Performing Arts Closing performance of “Once On This Island” in an electric company of all places! Didn’t realize this was a <18 y/o production :-/. But surprisingly promising talent & high budget … I mean, there were live chickens, a pooping diapered goat, & sand. Actors should work on better front-facing blocking. Comments
M. Butterfly – Play – ArtsWest Playhouse Riveting Tony Awards-winning play “M. Butterfly.” Multilayered commentary on gender/sexual conformity, Asian racial stereotypes, & east vs west. A Seattle play finally uses nudity constructively. #madameButterfly Comments
Dear Evan Hansen – Musical – Paramount Theatre Sold-out run of the Tony & Grammy Award-winning musical “Dear Evan Hansen” at Paramount Theatre. Slow & didn’t live up to the hype. Not a fan of high school teenager storylines. Amazing projections & lighting though.
Last of the Boys – Play – Seattle Repertory Theatre Watched the play “Last Of The Boys” at Seattle Repertory Theatre. Despite how amazing & realistic a set is designed, it’s challenging to craft an interesting play when the set doesn’t change. #veterans #vietnamwar #ghosts #dull
Bohemia – Dinner Show – The Triple Door The Triple Door’s opening weekend to “Bohemia” – the absinthe & fairy-inspired burlesque cabaret musical dinner show. Talented performance but wish there was more of a plot. Dvorak, chopin, pasties oh my!
