Watched the stage version of Sister Act. Loved the groovy disco vibe, witty quips, and hilarious songs. Well-written and strong performance overall. But the individual actors by themselves were not showstopping. Also, I’m pretty sure Seattle’s ethnic shortage forced the production’s casting to be more “colorblind.”

[title of show] – Musical – Mini Review – Bainbridge Performing Arts
Took the ferry to see the musical [title of show]. Set and props were minimal, but this allowed the audience to fully appreciate the actors’ talent and the novel/brilliant script. Probably the funniest musical I’ve seen.
American Idiot – Musical – Pullman vs Paxton Productions
Watched the sold out Green Day musical American Idiot. Totally fitting for Capitol Hill. Snowpocalypse won’t keep me away from the theater tonight!
Vietgone – Play – Mini Review – Seattle Rep
Watched the nearly sold-out play Vietgone. Cleverly written and brilliantly executed. Even the integrated rap (not my favorite genre) segments weren’t half bad. Standing ovation from me!
Spring Awakening – Musical – Basement Theatricals
Last minute musical! Watched Spring Awakening. Not too shabby for a local, upstarting theater company.
