Watched the Tony Awards-winning musical Come From Away. It’s a beautiful story that celebrates humanity’s spirit of generosity and kindness after 9/11 in a Love Actually way.
Watched The Hunchback of Notre Dame: The Musical. This tragedy ain’t your grandma’s Disney version (but they share many songs). The star actor playing the hunchback was deaf (with a surrogate singer) & the cast signed the dialogue/lyrics. Very elaborate music score.
Opening night to Kiss Me, Kate musical featuring songs by Cole Porter. Originally saw in a community theater (Seattle Musical Theatre) and man, the professional production is so much better! — attending Kiss Me, Kate at The 5th Avenue Theatre.
Watched MAMMA MIA! Obviously, the past national tours were better. But who can say no to a feel good saccharine musical? “See that girl. Watch that scene. Diggin’ the dancing queen!” ?
Watched the stage production of Holiday Inn Movie with dad. Delightful old-fashioned Christmas-y musical featuring classic Irving Berlin songs. As always, loved the tap dancing!
