Mrs. Caliban – Play – Book-it Repertory Theatre “Mrs. Caliban” stage adaptation of the novella at Book-it Repertory Theatre. An ocean monster man disrupts the monontous routine of a lonely unfulfilled suburban #housewife. With such a #bizarre story, this #play was oddly #indescribable (in a good way). #fantasy
The Turn of the Screw – Play – Book-It Repertory Theatre “Turn of the Screw” stage play adaptation w/ Book-It Repertory Theatre at Seattle Center. Eerie gothic supernatural ghost thriller. But too confusing because of British subtlety. Was it all a delusion? #suspense
Howl’s Moving Castle – Musical – Book-It Repertory Theatre “Howl’s Moving Castle” musical w/ Book- It Repertory Theatre. Quality better than the original 2017 production. Probably would have enjoyed it much more if I saw the book or movie.
Everything is Illuminated – Play – Book-it Repertory Theatre “Everything is Illuminated” stage #play adaptation w/ Book-it Repertory Theatre. Endearing #Ukrainian/Russian English accent/translation. Novel old-timey projection medium. Nice touch w/ live #Jewish/#Yiddish background music. But parallel stories were hard to follow. #Holocaust #WWII
Behold the Dreamers – Play – Book-It Repertory Theatre Stage play adaptation of “Behold the Dreamers” at Book-It Repertory Theatre. Well-written captivating storytelling. Reminds me of the sacrifices my immigrant parents made to achieve the American Dream. Loved the juxtaposition between the rich & poor. Surprised that so many seats were empty at such a good play.
