“Jesus Christ Superstar” w/ Cornish College of the Arts. Unexpected post-apocalyptic tribal airport theme. Casting (mostly gender-blind) was not well suited for vocal ranges & the shortage of male theatre actors was grossly apparent. Great band & choreography though.
“A Doll’s House, Part 2” at Seattle Repertory Theatre. While I acknowledge the longstanding unfair gender inequality in our patriarchal society, I wanted to watch an entertaining play – not listen to a preachy lecture about feminism. #Ibsen
Matinee of “Curtains” the mystery comedy musical w/ Woodland Park Players at Shoreline Community College. Too many actors on stage & too much of a community theatre vibe. Producer character was pretty good though.
“The Woman in Black” ghost play at Seattle Repertory Theatre. Slow start had me planning to leave at intermission but it morphed into a chilling, haunting, edge-of-your-seat, scary, suspenseful, spine-tingling, gothic thriller. Great use of light, sound, & 2-person cast.
