Proof – Play – SecondStory Repertory Opening night to the play Proof by David Auburn. For such dull subject matter (math) and no set changes, I was surprised how good it was. Kinda reminded me of A Beautiful Mind.
Familiar – Play – Seattle Repertory Theatre Evening performance of the play “Familiar.” Hilarious relatable commentary on first-generation immigrant cultural identity after American assimilation. And of course in typical Seattle fashion, there was brief nudity out of nowhere. ? — attending Familiar at Seattle Repertory Theatre.
Love Never Dies – Musical – Paramount Theatre Evening performance of Love Never Dies (sequel to The Phantom of the Opera). Beautiful theme song! Act 1 started weak but Act 2 ended strong (seems to be the opposite of most musicals). — attending Love Never Dies at Paramount Theatre.
Little Shop of Horrors – Musical – Slate Theater Sold out performance to the campy rock/motown musical Little Shop of Horrors. The trio chorus was out of this world! But it’s a shame they didn’t use microphones. The deliberately genderblind casting was surprsingly mostly okay. — attending Little Shop of Horrors at Reboot at Slate Theater.
Shakespeare in Love – Play – Cornish Playhouse At Seattle Center Watched the stage production of Shakespeare In Love. For a guy who hates English literature and William Shakespeare, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this play. — attending Shakespeare in Love at Cornish Playhouse At Seattle Center
