Watsons Go to Birmingham (1963) – Play – Seattle Children’s Theatre

“Watsons Go to Birmingham – 1963” stage play adaptation of the book w/ dad. A well-to-do northern family is shaken by racism in the Jim Crow Deep South. But lawd, what a delightful granny! Glad Seattle Children’s Theatre is making sure the next generation doesn’t forget lessons from past atrocities.

Afterwords – Musical – 5th Ave Theatre

“Afterwords” musical w/ dad at the 5th Avenue Theatre. Amazing to see evolution from the Village Theatre beta workshop 4 yrs ago to the big stage now. Felt goosebumps during the “Lonely-hearted People” song. Novel use of non-vocal dancers depicting characters’ inner emotions.

The Happiest Song Plays Last – Play – Tacoma Little Theatre

“The Happiest Song Plays Last” play closing show w/ dad at Tacoma Little Theatre & University of Washington Tacoma. #Latino, #MiddleEastern, & #American worlds collide! Live guitar music was a nice touch.

Alma – Play – ArtsWest

“Alma” play w/ dad at ArtsWest. A Mexican mom-daughter duo come to terms w/ what the American Dream means for illegal immigrants. I’m surprised at how much Spanish we could understand from this bilingual play! #chancla
