“Shout Sister Shout!” gospel musical w/ dad at Seattle Repertory Theatre. Dynamite music & voices! Takes me back to my conservative Southern religious upbringing. It’s unfortunate that church-inspired condemnation & guilt back then is still pervasive today.
“The Great Moment” play at Seattle Rep w/ dad. Plot-less & excessively sentimental. Unrealistically overenergetic 100 y/o character & too many obscure references. But child character was funny. Kudos on the fantastic set design and to the lead actress for pushing through under the weather. #life #death
Indecent on Broadway w/ Seattle Rep. Pleasanty surprised this play had musical-like singing & dancing w/ a live Yiddish/Jewish band. Great dialect coaching. However, this “God of Vengeance” play-within-a-play was a bit too deep for me. #Lesbian #LGBT
“As You Like It” musical w/ Seattle Rep. Cute adaptation of the Shakespeare comedy. Lightning cut the lights/sound midshow & an audience member wandered onstage! #technicalDifficulties
“Tiny Beautiful Things” w/ Seattle Repertory Theatre. Well-performed emotional monologues & impressive memorization. But this play about a columnist needed less Oprah & Lifetime with more “Sex & the City.” #basic
