Watched “The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes.” A regular guy’s life turns into a musical (aka my-dream-come-true). Incredible talent and set but plot was kinda lacking.
Watched Shrek the Musical. The actress that played the dragon was out of this world! Funny how they made Little Red Riding Hood’s wolf a cross dresser.
Watched “ZM” – an overly-cheesy developing musical about a zombie apocalypse caused by a new fast food burger. Unless there’s a weird cult following or a massive script overhaul, I don’t anticipate this going to the mainstage next year.
Best Hairspray version I’ve seen so far (out of 5). Will probably see again. It was interesting to hear Tracy with a more full-bodied (no pun intended) non-squeaky voice. Wish they could add the movie’s songs “Lady’s Choice” and “New Girl in Town.”
Watched the new musical “Sincerely Yours.” While I respect that this was written by high schoolers, it was just a lukewarm piece and performance. And why were there no guys? Single gender shows tend to be more boring in my experience. — attending Sincerely Yours at Village Theatre.
